Sandford's Launches New Website

March 2014

We are delighted to announce the launch of our brand new website. The family have created it themselves and update it when they're not baking, cleaning, or doing paperwork!

The aim of the website is to inform our customers and potential customers of all the things we offer and the skills we have. We hope it will also provide a way of reaching further afield to people who might not have otherwise known about us. We look forward to updating it with the latest treats and ideas.

Latest project - 'Made Without Range'

February 2014

Our baker Amy has recently started to explore the world of 'Made Without' - without what you say? Well, without any gluten-containing ingredients! So for those of you who have an intolerance to gluten, this newly developing range could be for you.

***Please note however, they are baked in a kitchen that also handles ingredients that contain gluten. In the interests of our customers' health and well-being, Sandford's Bakery does not certify our Made Without range as gluten-free***

Currently Amy has worked to master her own recipes, which haven't been given the go ahead unless they passed the "would you know the difference?" test. Those that passed now include:

White Multi-Seed Bread, Banana & Sultana Cake, and a Classic Victoria Sandwich Sponge Cake.

Please call in or telephone to enquire about placing an order for any of the above - Amy will require a few days' notice to specially fit it into her baking schedule.

Sandford's make the Guiness Book of Records 2010  for World's Largest Scone!
January 2010

As part of a competition to promote Devon, we were asked to bake the World's Biggest Scone - so we said "ok!".

The giant scone, which was three feet in diameter and slathered with 20lb (9kg) of jam and 35lb (16kg) of clotted cream weighed in at a total of 99lbs (45kg).
